Before You Book a Balloon Flight
A sunrise balloon ride is the reason many people come to Cappadocia, so book a few days ahead, especially in spring and autumn. Flights only go ahead when the wind is calm, so keep a spare morning in your plan in case the first one is cancelled for weather.
On the Day
Pick-up is very early, usually before dawn. Dress in layers since it is cool on the ground and warmer once you are up, and wear flat, closed shoes for getting in and out of the basket. The flight itself lasts around an hour and is smooth and quiet, with the burner the only loud part.
Choosing an Operator
